Community Peer Support

Thrive’s Community Peer Support program aims to empower individuals experiencing mental illness and/or substance use disorders by fostering an environment that supports recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, well-being, and independence. This community-based service is designed to create a supportive network that encourages participants to take active roles in their recovery journeys.

Activities: The program includes a wide range of activities tailored to the unique needs and goals of each participant. These activities may include:

  • One-on-one peer support sessions, where individuals can share their experiences and challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Connection to group support meetings that provide opportunities for participants to connect with others who have similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.
  • Support with topics such as coping strategies, wellness planning, goal setting, and relapse prevention, are designed to equip participants with the skills they need to navigate their recovery.
  • Assistance with accessing community resources and services, including housing, education, employment, and healthcare, to support a holistic approach to recovery and wellness.
  • Advocacy and self-advocacy, empowering participants to effectively communicate their needs and preferences to healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
